To prevent the spread of Coronavirus, the installation of Ganpati idols on public roads has been banned. Ganesh Mandals also have been asked to install idols at their home. P.I VR Vaniya has given instructions through a loudspeaker in various areas of the city police station in the last two days. Meetings were also held with Ganesh Mandals to sensitize them to follow rules. Koyli Faliya Yuvak Mandal installed the idol of Lord Ganesha in the residence which sparked controversy as City Police took action against the installation in a residential building. Five people were detained from the spot. However, the action taken by the police sparked outrage amongst the locals.
