After the heavy rains on Sunday, the Vishwamitri river's level started increasing again nearing the danger mark. However, it was a relief for the city as the rains stopped since Monday morning. Alert has been issued for people living near the river as the level reached 21 feet in the morning when water was released from the Ajwa lake at 11 pm. The level of Vishwamitri river will not exceed 23-24 feet as the water is being discharged in a planned manner from Ajwa Sarovar into the river by Vadodara Mahanagar Seva Sadan (VMSS). As a result, the flood crisis will be averted from the city, but people living nearby have been asked to be careful. The Chief Fire Officer of the fire brigade, Parth Brahmbhatt said that as per the rules, water is stored up to 212.50 feet above the surface of the lake on 31st August.
