The veteran leader and Rajya Sabha MP Ahmed Patel died early yesterday morning while undergoing treatment at Medanta Hospital in Gurugram. His son Faisal tweeted and announced the death of his father. He also requested people to follow Covid guidelines for their safety.

On Wednesday night his body arrived at Vadodara airport where top Congress leaders including Amit Chavda, Hardik Patel, Siddharth Patel, and many others along with well-wishers and party workers were present to receive the body of Ahmed Patel. As per Patel's wishes, his mortal remains were buried next to his parent's grave.
