In a press briefing on the death by suicide of a 19-year-old resident at Lakshmipura, ACP Bakul Chaudhary shed some light on the rape case that happened on Tuesday, followed by the suicide of the victim on Thursday. Dishant Deepak Kahar and Nazim Ismail, work colleagues from Cogent Service Pvt. Ltd., raped the 19-year-old after forcefully putting her under the influence of alcohol. The Police have lodged complaints, under IPC 324 and IPC 376, against the alleged perpetrators. At the briefing, ACP said, "After investigating, we found out that at around 5 PM on June 8, Dishant and Azim had reached the victim's flat with a bottle of alcohol. Later, after forcefully intoxicating her, Dishant raped her." "The girl was taken to her parent's place after her friend had arrived at the flat and had informed her parents about the incident," they added.
