A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Resident Additional Collector Dilip Patel for pre-planning to deal with possible floods, cyclone and heavy rains in the coming monsoon season in Vadodara district. Dilip Patel said that it usually rains from June to October and rescue operations are carried out during heavy rains. Apart from that pre-monsoon operations carried out by various offices and preparations have to be made for the upcoming monsoon season. He gave instructions to mark the villages before the rains, cut off roads, high flood levels of the time as well as high flood level marking of dam site. He further instructed to remove the encroachment around the river, clean areas nearby the river, remove blockages inside the canals. Also, to prepare list of flood affected areas and blockage areas and submit survey report of inspection.
