In the relentless fight against COVID-19, Railways is taking rapid action to swiftly move the Oxygen Tankers across the states. To strengthen the united fight against COVID-19 and for bringing relief to the COVID patients, Western Railway has run three more Oxygen Express trains carrying Liquid Medical Oxygen (LMO.) in less than 24 hrs on 5/6th May, 2021. Till now, Western Railway has run total eight Oxygen Express trains transporting 641.32 tonnes LMO. According to a press release issued by Sumit Thakur – Chief Relations Officer of Western Railway, on the night of 5th May and morning of 6th May, 2021, Western Railway ran three more Oxygen Express trains, two to Delhi and one to Kota in Rajasthan. One Oxygen Express departed from Hapa in Gujarat on 5th May, 2021 for Delhi Cantt., with 3 Oxygen Tankers which contained about 63 tonnes of Liquid Medical Oxygen.
