Ten years ago, after fleeing from Sayaji Hospital in Vadodara, an accused drug mafia was arrested by the Crime Branch team in Hong Kong as he fled abroad after evading the police. The SOG team has taken custody of the accused and initiated proceedings. As per the details, Xi Jing Feng alias Richard was arrested by NCB Ahmedabad on charges of narcotics offenses on 22nd November 2008 with drugs named Methamphetamine worth Rs 12 crore from Vadodara Bypass Road, near Maneja. His two other accomplices Gunasekharan Pillai and Ravindra Karpyano were also arrested. Both were sentenced to life imprisonment in the case filed by NCB Ahmedabad and are currently lodged in Sabarmati Jail, Ahmedabad. While Xi Jing Feng alias Richard was remanded in judicial custody at Vadodara Central Jail. He came in contact with many other accused and with their help he conspired and fled from Sayaji Hospital on 28th April  2011 evading the police.
