Three teams from the Vadodara Municipal Corporation's health department raided the Sharda Gruh Udyog and the Hathikhana market selling turmeric, chilli and coriander powder at cheaper than the market price. During the raid, the team recovered 2,818 kgs of turmeric and chillies worth a total of Rs 3.75 lakh from Sharda Gruh Udyog and 40.500 kgs of chilli, turmeric and coriander from the Hathikhana market worth 8,040 rupees. The team collected the samples of chilli, turmeric and coriander and sent to laboratory for analysis. During a survey by Food Safety Gandhinagar and Food Branch, it was noticed that chilli and turmeric powder were being sold cheaper than market price. A team from the health department had conducted a search operation for the last six days at the Sharda Gruh Udyog godown at Hujrat Tekra, behind the Bhutdizampa bus depot. Meanwhile, the raid was going on from noon to late night yesterday. During the raid, the health team recovered a total of Rs 3,75,320 worth items
