The Sayaji Hospital and Baroda Medical College's pediatrics department was named best in the Guj Pedicon '21 in Surat and received the honor of being the finest pediatric department among the state's Department of Government Hospitals and Medical Colleges. Sayaji Hospital, Gujarat's largest government hospital, and Baroda Medical College have added another feather to their cap with the addition of a pediatrics section.  The department was named best among the government pediatric institutes of the state by Gujpedicon 2021, a state council of pediatricians created by the Academy of Pediatrics, a state organization of pediatricians.
