The Aam Aadmi Party is still a settler in Gujarat. AAP contested in the Gujarat Legislative Assembly elections in 2017 and the Gujarat municipal elections in 2021. Now AAP is fully fortified to contest Gujarat’s Legislative Assembly election in 2022.

The BJP's stronghold is the main opposition and real challenge AAP will face in holding their grounds in Gujarat. The AAP had named Isudan Gadhvi as its Gujarat CM candidate. Gujarat has been ruled by the Bhartiya Janata Party since 1998.
