-- An article by Velroy Anthony   The Indian Election Commission is pushing individuals to link their Aadhaar card to their voter ID card. The Election Commission of India (ECI) is requesting that everyone link their Voter ID card to their Aadhaar card following the Election Laws (Amendment) Act, 2021, which was passed by the parliament in December of last year. The purpose behind integrating the two identification cards is to confirm electoral roll entries, authenticate voter identities, and determine whether someone is enrolled in the same constituency more than once or numerous constituencies. It should be emphasized that the ECI has not yet required the linking of Aadhaar cards with Voter ID or Election Photo Identity Cards (EPIC). The election administration has said clearly that no current voter's name would be deleted from the electoral list if the Aadhaar number is not submitted.
