Indian Railways, one of the world's oldest and busiest railway systems, carried an astonishing 3.52 billion passengers and a staggering 1512 MT of freight in 2023, with over 13,000 trains crisscrossing the nation daily and serving 7,325 stations, its connectivity is unmatched.
To ensure this vast machinery runs smoothly and to provide a modern and comfortable experience to its passengers, the Indian Railways launched the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. This ambitious project aims to redevelop 1309 railway stations across India. Recently, PM Modi laid the foundation stone for the redevelopment of 508 stations, marking a significant step in this endeavour.
The primary focus of the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme is to enhance station facilities with state-of-the-art infrastructure, including roof plazas and city centres within the stations. The governme
