As we are celebrating his 162nd birth anniversary today, let’s talk about his interesting connection with the city of Ahmedabad. Tagore’s Stay in Ahmedabad Rabindranath Tagore had visited Gujarat when he was 17 years old, which is in year 1878. His elder brother Satyendranath was appointed as the first Indian Civil Service officer; Commissioner of Ahmedabad at that time. While Rabindranath Tagore’s visit in city, he stayed at the Motisahi Palace built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in 1622 AD. The palace is now known as the Sardar Patel Memorial Bhawan which still stands tall in Shahibagh. His elder brother
